About JCI
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global non-profit organization which has been around since 1915. Members are typically aged between 18 and 40. Unfortunately, those of our members under the age of 21 can't partake in legal online gambling in Pennsylvania, and casinopittsburgh.com explains why. The main goal of the JCI is to shape young people into helpful citizens. The JCI encourages international cooperation, positive social change and the economic advancement of poorer countries.
Each year a conference called the JCI World Congress is held. The venue country changes annually. This event brings together all the various local chapters of the JCI from different nations.
The 2013 Congress
The 2013 Congress was held in November in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. JCI members from across the globe attended the event. It was used to spread awareness of a change in direction for the organization. For the first time, a much greater emphasis was put on taking direct, collaborative action within all sections of society. This was to create a more positive world.
Participants attended an informative Active Citizen Framework workshop. This has continued in future congresses ever since. In it, members were told how they can change their local communities for the better. The JCI also sought to help the Rio community.
The main venue for this event was the coastal Windsor Barra Hotel. Participants got to enjoy the sandy beaches of Rio, as well as its vibrant culture. It was an opportunity to meet JCI members from different cultures and to learn how to be a more productive member of society.
